Hello and welcome.
My name is Alicia and I'm glad you're here.
You might be wondering who I am and what led me to this path of healing.
For me, healing wasn’t an option —it was a necessity
My journey began when I was 20 and could no longer ignore how deeply troubled I was and in serious need of help. I was struggling to cope and severely addicted to binge eating. Consumed by my food addiction and unhappiness, I knew it was time to seek professional help to address the traumas and abuse I had faced growing up.
I began my healing journey with psychotherapy and soon found support through 12-step meetings for compulsive overeaters. I believe psychotherapy gave me the needed space to talk about and acknowledge all that had happened to me growing up. However, the real healing I experienced came through finding God and walking with Him. Although I wasn’t religious, living by faith and embracing the godly principles taught in 12-step programmes brought about a radical transformation in my life.
Journeying with God helped me to process and feel my emotions without turning to food and other coping mechanisms. I began to embrace a wholesome lifestyle over a self-numbing and destructive one. I also began working with children as a nanny which proved to be deeply healing, satisfying and insightful to me.
My natural love and compassion for children made working with them profoundly therapeutic - a realisation that became clear to me only after the fact. Interacting with and caring for children activated my own early experiences of love, nurturance, and self-expression. However, unlike my childhood experiences, I was now engaging with these themes in a positive and healthy way which I believe helped rewire my brain and heal many wounded parts of me.
Additionally, working with children proved to be an ideal way to explore my deep interest in human nature, especially in child psychology and the enduring impact of childhood experiences. e. Through this work, I observed the dynamic interaction between our innate temperaments and the impact of our upbringing—nature versus nurture—and gained a richer understanding of how these factors influence our emotional and mental well-being. Therefore, working with children provided me with a visceral experience of many theories and concepts I had studied about child psychology and the impact of early childhood experiences. Conversely, this experience also sparked many intuitive ideas about children and their innate needs, prompting me to seek out books to conceptualise and confirm these insights.
I share all this because I truly believe my work with children has profoundly educated me in the realm of emotional healing. To understand how we operate as emotional beings, one must immerse oneself in that realm. No amount of theorising can help one to truly understand the emotional realm - one must be attuned to the emotional world in oneself and others. And what better way to understand emotions than to relate to them in their most raw and primitive state, as experienced in childhood?
My healing journey also led me to explore a variety of natural and alternative healing modalities. Among the many I tried, I found vibrational medicine to be the most effective and profound. I continue to use these modalities while nurturing my growing relationship with God. I truly believe vibrational medicine in the form of flower essences and Homeopathy (which I’m currently studying) are God’s gift to us and something we can access through His grace. For it is truly by His grace that I came upon these wonderful healing medicines. The more I learn about them, the more I see God’s handiwork and divine laws at play. It is my heartfelt desire to share these wonderful healing tools with as many people as possible.
These tools, along with my experience and knowledge of how to navigate the emotional realm, equip me in supporting you in your emotional wellness.
Traversing the emotional realm can feel daunting and but I’m here to tell you that it is so worth the undertaking. We are emotional beings and can’t escape that fact. We can either allow our feelings to affect us in destructive ways - often in ways we aren’t even aware of - or we can bring them into the light of consciousness where we can find breakthrough, liberation and wholeness.
There is a light that can only be found through the darkness.
